Brewers ink two pitchers to one-year deal

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers signed pitchers Eduardo Morlan and Cody Scarpetta to one-year contracts on Wednesday.

Morlan was selected by the Brewers in the 2008 Rule 5 Draft from Tampa Bay, going 4-2 with a 3.64 earned run average and one save in 30 appearances for Double-A Montgomery last season.

Scarpetta compiled a 2-0 record with a 2.23 ERA in 12 games -- eight starts -- between two Rookie League teams.
