Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Prince Fielder set a franchise record with his 127th RBI of the year, and the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros, 7-2, thanks to a five-run seventh inning in the middle test of a three-game set.

Fielder passed Cecil Cooper for the single-season RBI club record. Cooper, who currently manages the Astros, recorded 126 in 1983.

Jeff Suppan (7-10) took the win after going seven innings and giving up two run on five hits with a season-high seven punchouts.

Jody Gerut went 2-for-2, drove in a pair of runs and scored once for the Brewers, who won their fourth in a row. Casey McGehee also knocked in a pair of runs, while Ryan Braun was 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored once. J.J. Hardy also had an RBI in the win.

Brian Moehler lasted six-plus innings and yielded two runs -- one earned -- on five hits. Tim Byrdak (1-2) took the loss after surrendering two runs on one hits while failing to record an out in the seventh.

Hunter Pence and Chris Johnson drove in a run each for the Astros, who dropped their sixth in a row.

Trailing by a run in the seventh, the Brewers rallied to take the lead. Jason Kendall led off with a single and Byrdak was called on in relief. Pinch- hitter Jason Bourgeois singled and Felipe Lopez walked to load the bases.

After Samuel Gervacio was summoned from the bullpen, Gerut had a two-run single and Braun had an RBI base hit, which brought Wesley Wright on in relief. Fielder's single loaded the bags and Jeff Fulchino came in to pitch. McGehee added a two-run single to make it 6-2.

Fielder's sac fly in the eighth gave the Brewers a 7-2 lead and set the franchise record for RBI in a season.

Houston took a 1-0 lead in the second stanza, as Carlos Lee led off with a double, moved to third two batters later on Miguel Tejada's single and crossed home on Johnson's groundout.

However, Hardy's RBI double in the home half knotted it up. Pence's one-out solo homer in the seventh inning gave Houston a 2-1 lead.

Game Notes

The Brewers hadn't won four straight since May 16-19...Suppan was just 1-6 in his last seven decisions coming in and had dropped two straight starts...The Brewers have won nine of 14 meetings versus the Astros this year and took two of three in the only meeting so far at Miller Park on August 14-16.
