The Texas Rangers are confident that will be able to get a deal done with Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish ahead of Wednesday's 5pm et/2pm pt deadline.
According to MLB.com, while Texas and Darvish don't have a deal complete yet, the Rangers expect to have Darvish signed as long as both parties stay "fair and reasonable".
The Rangers won the bidding for Darvish a month ago by submitting the highest posting fee to his Japanese team, the Nippon Ham Fighters.
The report also states that if the Rangers sign Darvish, they will not consider signing free-agent Prince Fielder, who the club met last Friday.
Darvish posted an 18-6 record with a 1.44 ERA in 28 games in 2011.
