The Toronto Blue Jays may have added another piece to their already large off-season haul.

According to multiple reports, the Jays have agreed to a deal with free-agent outfielder Melky Cabrera.

The reports indicates that Cabrera, a former member of the San Francisco Giants, has agreed to a deal that will pay him $16 million over two seasons.

Cabrera had an up and down season last year, his first as a member of the Giants after a trade from the Kansas City Royals.

On the field, in 113 games, the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native hit 11 home runs with 60 runs batted in and a career best .346 batting average.

He was also named MVP of the all-star game that was won by his National League squad.

However his season came to an end when he tested positive for an elevated testosterone level and was suspended 50 games for a first offence of the drug agreement between owners and the players' association.

When his suspension ended, the Giants chose not to add him to their playoff roster.

The 28-year-old outfielder has also played for the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves over his eight-year MLB career.
