SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Oakland Athletics starting pitchers Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin have arm injuries and could start the season on the disabled list.
Manager Bob Melvin says Parker, who was set to start on opening day, has right forearm soreness and will see Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., on Monday.
Dr. Andrews performed reconstructive elbow surgery on Parker in 2009, and the right-hander missed the 2010 season.
Melvin also said Griffin has a sore right elbow and will have a MRI.
Melvin said both are in jeopardy of not being ready for the start of the season.
Parker was 12-8 with a 3.97 ERA in 32 starts last season, while Griffin was 14-10 with a 3.83 ERA.
