LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Paul Maholm will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee during Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
An MRI performed Saturday revealed the injury, which occurred when Maholm was running to cover first base to record the final out in the top of the seventh inning.
The veteran left-hander will meet with Dodgers team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache to determine a surgery date.
Maholm had been primarily working in middle relief this season, his first with Los Angeles. The 32-year-old has posted a 1-5 record with a 4.84 earned run average over 30 appearances, including eight starts.
