Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Adam Lind will begin a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League's Blue Jays on Thursday, as he works his way back from a foot fracture.

Lind suffered the injury when he fouled a pitch off the top of his right foot on June 14 in Baltimore. He underwent an X-ray and a CT scan, both of which showed no break. After pinch-hitting in games on June 19 (New York), June 20 and 21 (Cincinnati), Lind returned to the starting lineup on June 23, a home game against the Yankees. He proceeded to play until July 8.

He was then diagnosed with a fracture in his foot and placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 11.

Lind, 30, is hitting .320 with four home runs and 27 runs batted in so far this season in 61 games.
