The Toronto Blue Jays and pitcher Jesse Litsch have parted ways.

On Wednesday, the club announced that the 27-year-old elected for free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment to the minor leagues.

Litsch, who missed the entire 2012 season with a shoulder infection, posted a 27-27 record with a 4.16 ERA in 88 games over five seasons with the Jays.
