ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves have extended general manager Frank Wren's contract through 2014 and promoted two other officials.
President John Schuerholz announced the moves Friday, a week after the Braves were eliminated from the playoffs.
Wren took over from Schuerholz as the Braves' GM after the 2007 season. During his five-year tenure, Atlanta has made two playoff appearances but has yet to win in the post-season.
This season, the Braves were eliminated by the St. Louis Cardinals in the wild-card game.
Assistant general manager Bruce Manno has been promoted to vice-president and will remain in charge of player development. Director of pro scouting John Coppolella has been elevated to assistant general manager.
