Jesse Crain will not be part of Team Canada's pitching staff for the World Baseball Classic.

According to Baseball Canada, Crain withdrew from the tournament on Monday after suffering a shoulder injury during spring training with the Chicago White Sox.

The 31-year-old Crain, who missed 22 games last season with shoulder problems, represented Canada in both the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classics.

Last season with the White Sox, Crain had a 3-2 record out of the bullpen with a 2.44 earned-run-average.

No replacement has been named for Crain as yet.
