Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Yankees have acquired pitcher Yoshinori Tateyama from the Texas Rangers in exchange for future considerations.

Tateyama had spent the entire season at Texas' Triple-A affiliate in Round Rock, posting a record of 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA and one save in 23 games. He will be assigned to New York's Triple-A club in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The right-hander joined Texas as a free agent in November 2010 after pitching for 12 seasons in Japan. He made 53 relief appearances with the Rangers over the 2011-12 seasons, compiling a mark of 3-0 with a 5.75 ERA and one save.
