KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Chicago White Sox recalled right-hander Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte before the start of Friday night's game against the Kansas City Royals.

Omogrosso appeared in 11 games for the White Sox earlier this year, and had a 5.14 ERA over 14 innings. He was 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in 10 games at Charlotte.

Omogrosso took the place of right-hander Deunte Heath, who was optioned to Charlotte after Thursday's loss to the Minnesota Twins.

Heath allowed three runs in two innings Wednesday night and was carrying an 11.74 ERA in five appearances this season.
