MONTREAL -- UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre seems of two minds about women's mixed martial arts.

A report last week on TMZ.com said Strikeforce bantamweight champion (Rowdy) Ronda Rousey is going to join the UFC, opening the door to female fighters in MMA's largest promotion.

"I'm happy for the girls that fight but me personally I have a hard time watching the girls fight," St-Pierre said Thursday when asked about the issue.

"It's the way I grew up maybe, my mentality, I'm different, I'm old-school. But I have a hard time watching girls fighting. It's hard for me. I've never really watched women fight. But I know the women are pretty good, I know Ronda Rousey is very good. ... But it's good for the women, that they can make their career (out of it)."

Rousey is a former Olympic judo bronze medallist who is unbeaten in six MMA fights. She has submitted every opponent via devastating armbar in the first round.

The UFC owns Strikeforce and reportedly plans to shut it down.
