LAS VEGAS -- Interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao will fight Michael (Mayday) McDonald on a televised UFC card Feb. 16 at Wembley Arena in London.
Brazil's Barao (31-1 with one no contest) defeated Urijah (The California Kid) Faber at UFC 149 in Calgary in July to win the interim 135-pound crown in the absence of champion Dominick Cruz, who is sidelined by a knee injury that required a second surgery.
McDonald (15-1) has won four straight since coming over to the UFC from WEC.
Other fights on the London card include Che Mills versus Matt Riddle, Terry Etim versus Renee Forte, Paul Sass versus Danny Castillo, Phil Harris versus Ulysses Gomez, Vaughan Lee versus Motonobu Tezuka and Andy Ogle versus Josh Grispi.
In other UFC news, Canadian Nick Penner will welcome light-heavyweight Cody Donovan to the UFC on Dec. 15 in the finale of "The Ultimate Fighter: Austraia vs. U.K. -- The Smashes" at Australia's Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.
