Retired UFC fighter Chael Sonnen received a two-year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Wednesday for a pair of failed tests in the lead up to UFC 175.

Sonnen announced his retirement from the sport after the first failed test caused the UFC to pull him from a scheduled fight with Vitor Belfort.  A second failed test was subsequently revealed which led to the end of Sonnen's broadcasting relationship with Fox.

Sonnen accepted responsibility for his actions at the hearing.

"I don't want to say anything that comes off as an excuse, because I'm guilty," said Sonnen. "I'm ashamed."
