BUFFALO - With just 29 hours separating the Canadiens from leaving Vancouver and puck drop in Buffalo, they'll give a rested Peter Budaj the start in goal tonight against the Sabres.
Budaj earned his third victory of the season on Thursday night in Edmonton, and Randy Cunneyworth figures between the travel and the schedule, that Budaj will be fresher to take on the hot Sabres.
David Desharnais also took the morning skate back on his usual line and will be a game-time decision.
Tomas Plekanec was back in between Rene Bourque and Ryan White, after filling in for Desharnais. Plekanec is riding a three-game point streak (1-2-3) while Bourque has not scored in the last seven games.
Max Pacioretty continues to have the hot stick with a five-game point streak on the go, where he has five goals and 10 points.
Cunneyworth is expected to go with seven defense again to help balance the ice time of Andrei Markov. He played just over 17 minutes in Vancouver on Saturday, collecting a power play assist.
