Bartlett: Habs working to protect third-period leads

The post-game message sent on Tuesday night by Michel Therrien seemed simple. We came to get two points, so mission accomplished, off to Sunrise for the Panthers next. Yet, the wild finish to the game may not tell such a simple story.

Therrien admitted the team played well for 45 minutes, but allowed the Lightning back into the game - a habit they do not wish to form - after allowing third period leads to disappear for the third time in the last four games.

On Wednesday, the Canadiens practiced in Sunrise in preparation for their contest against the Panthers on Thursday night, with a focus on some fine details.

Therrien also addressed the need for the Canadiens to be better in the face-off circle, something they have struggled with this year, saying his main concern is losing the draw cleanly. He wants his players to continue battling for pucks in the circle.

Carey Price is expected to get the start in goal.

The lines remained the same.

Prust-Desharnais-Cole
