The Patrick Roy watch is picking up.

Just moments after his Quebec Remparts lost 5-4 in overtime of Game 7 against the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL playoffs, it didn't take long for questions to pop up regarding the former Canadien's potential move to the National Hockey League.

"For the moment, speaking for myself, my future is with the Remparts," Roy told reporters in reference to speculation that he could be head coach of the Montreal Canadiens or a future NHL team in Quebec City. "I'm happy in what I do. I have the opportunity to work with young people who have made me very proud throughout the season."

"I'll make an assessment in the coming weeks, compared to this season with the Remparts," he added. "We'll see if there's something that results from this, but I don't have anything in the making."

Roy, who led the Remparts to a Memorial Cup championship in 2006, is widely believed to be in consideration to rejoin the Canadiens as general manager or head coach.

The Canadiens began their GM search after the firing of general manager Pierre Gauthier on Mar. 29, with owner and team president Geoff Molson and newly-appointed advisor Serge Savard leading the hiring process.

At the time, Roy said he was focused on getting the Remparts ready for the QMJHL playoffs and didn't want to anticipate whether or not he would get a call from his former team.
