TORONTO -- Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Henry Burris was named the Gibson's Finest CFL offensive player of the week Monday for his efforts in a 43-40 loss to the Toronto Argonauts last week.

Burris, who completed 37 of 55 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns, has taken the weekly league honour on four occasions this season. He added 19 yards on four carries and completed two late touchdown passes that helped the Ticats pull even late in the fourth quarter.

Toronto kicker Swayze Waters kicked a game-winning 51-yard field goal as time expired to eliminate the Ticats from post-season contention. Waters was given the special teams player of the week honour after contributing 19 points in the victory.

Waters connected on all five field-goal attempts and added four converts.

Edmonton Eskimos linebacker J.C. Sherritt was named defensive player of the week after recording 11 tackles and a sack in a 30-27 loss to the Calgary Stampeders. Sherritt tackled Matt Walter late in the game to set a CFL record for most tackles in a season with 130.

The top Canadian honour went to Winnipeg Blue Bombers linebacker Henoc Muamba. He had 10 tackles and a sack in Winnipeg's 19-11 win over the Montreal Alouettes.
