The Montreal Alouettes kick off their 2013 pre-season by hosting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats tonight at Percival-Molson Stadium.

The Als will be eager to get the 2013 campaign underway after 2012 ended with a heartbreaking dropped pass that sent the Toronto Argonauts to the 100th Grey Cup.

Montreal will start out with star power on offence as incumbent starter Anthony Calvillo will start under centre in front of the home crowd. He is expected to be replaced, however, after a series or two by Josh Neiswander.

Former Ticats quarterback Quinton Porter is expected to play the second half. Brandon Whitaker will not dress for the game.

Meanwhile, the battle for Hamilton's back-up quarterback job will come front and centre with Dan LeFevour starting for the Ticats. He and Brian Brohm are battling it out to back-up starter Henry Burris.

Many Ticats stars are not expected to make the trip to Montreal, including Burris, wide receiver Andy Fantuz and kicker Luca Congi.
