The Montreal Canadiens are expected to have a few injured players back in the lineup before the end of the pre-season.

Travis Moen and Francis Bouillon have both been struggling with a minor lower-body injury that caused them to miss a few practices but are healthy and ready to play.

Captain Brian Gionta was hoping to make his pre-season debut Monday night against the New Jersey Devils, a team in which his brother Stephen Gionta plays for, but that will not be the case.

"There will be a Gionta on the ice tomorrow but it won't be me," the captain said following Sunday's practice.

Rookie defenceman Nathan Beaulieu suffered a shoulder injury at the start of camp and is listed as day-to-day and is hopeful to play in at least one pre-season game. George Parros practice for the first time without a no-contact jersey but still is not 100 per cent. There is no timeline for when he will be ready to play. Parros injured his shoulder after a fight in March when he was playing for the Florida Panthers, and underwent surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff in May.

Alexei Emelin and Douglas Murray skated by themselves prior to Sunday's practice with Habs strength and conditioning coach Pierre Allard. Emelin is not expected back from his knee injury before December at the earliest, and there is no update on when Murray will return from his lower-body injury.

Sunday's Practice Lines:

Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Briere
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Moen - White - Prust
Tarnasky - St Pierre - Parros

Gorges - Subban
Markov - Diaz
Bouillon - Beaulieu
The following players did not skate Sunday morning; instead they took part in an off-ice workout: Michael Blunden, Michael Bournival, Sebastian Collberg, Gabriel Dumont, Patrick Holland, Michael McCarron, Christian Thomas, Jarred Tinordi, Darren Dietz, Magnus Nygren and Greg Pateryn.
