Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - David Murphy's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Cleveland Indians to a 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday to salvage a three-game series.

The Indians mustered just one hit over the first eight innings before breaking through with a pair of singles to open the ninth against Kevin Jepsen (1-5). Roberto Perez bounced a base hit through the left side of the infield and Jason Kipnis followed with one through the right side to put runners on the corners.

Francisco Lindor then flied out to left, which was too shallow to score Perez, and Michael Brantley was intentionally walked to load the bases. Murphy lifted his fly ball to center and Kevin Kiermaier's throw to the plate beat Perez, but catcher Curt Casali bobbled the one-hopper, allowing Perez to score.

"Out of his hand it looked like it was going to make it to me in the air," Casali said. "As a catcher in that situation I have to let the ball play me."

Cody Anderson fired 7 2/3 shutout innings in his MLB debut for Cleveland, scattering six hits, walking one and striking out four.

"He really pitched well," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "Everything from poise to the way he competed ... he did a hell of a job."

Cody Allen (1-2) tossed a scoreless ninth to notch the win.

Starter Alex Colome was perfect through five innings for Tampa Bay, retiring the first 16 Cleveland hitters he faced before Michael Bourn singled with one out in the sixth. He walked two and fanned four over his seven shutout frames.

The Rays had a four-game winning streak snapped.

After Bourne singled in the sixth, he advanced to second on a wild pitch with two outs and Kipnis was intentionally walked, but Lindor lined out to left to end the inning.

The Rays stranded runners on the corners with two outs in the seventh and eighth innings. Jake Elmore grounded into a force out at second to end the seventh and Marc Rzepczynski struck out Nick Franklin to finish off the eighth.

Tampa Bay also put a runner on third with two away in the ninth, but Elmore fanned to quell that threat.
