According to a report in the Toronto Sun, the Raptors will have a couple of Canadian big men among the first players they work out this week in preparation for this year's NBA draft.
The Sun notes that Montreal's Juan Mendez, the all-time leading Canadian scorer in NCAA, will show his stuff for the Raptors.
"We think he's a good player and he deserves legitimate consideration," Raptors general manager Rob Babcock told the paper. "We're looking for the best players possible."
Mendez will reportedly work out with Kansas' Wayne Simien, Providence's Ryan Gomes and Mississippi State's Lawrence Roberts.
Odessa, Ontario's Nate Doornekamp, who played at Boston College, will work out with a group of centres. The seven-footer will be joined by Sam Houston State's Eddy Fobbs, Georgia Tech's Luke Schenscher and Paris Racing's Robert Rotbhart.
The Raptors are also reportedly going to attend a private workout by Ivan Chiriaev, a Russian teen who played high school ball in Oakville, Ontario.
