Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Clippers announced on Friday they have signed forward Marcus Williams for the remainder of the season.
Williams was a second round pick of the San Antonio Spurs in the 2007 NBA Draft. He was twice waived by the Spurs before catching on with the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League earlier this year.
Williams was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen Team in 2006 and left the University of Arizona after his sophomore season. In 36 games with the Toros this season, the forward posted 19.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
To make room for the signing, the Clippers waived forward Aaron Williams, who played in 68 games for LA the past two seasons, but has averaged just 2.3 points, 2.0 rebounds in 30 games this season.
