Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Gerald Wallace logged 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Charlotte to its first road win of the season, a 90-78 decision over Washington.
Raymond Felton and Tyson Chandler each netted 12 points, and Stephen Jackson contributed 11 points, six boards and four assists for the Bobcats, winners of four straight, including a 94-87 decision over the Cavaliers on Friday.
The Wizards also pulled out a big win over Miami on Friday but came out sluggish a day later, shooting just 39.7 percent from the floor. Caron Butler led the way with 19 points and seven boards, while Brendan Haywood ended with 10 points and nine rebounds in the setback.
Charlotte led 22-19 after the opening quarter and scored eight of the first 10 points of the second frame, taking a 30-21 lead on a Derrick Brown dunk.
The margin was 42-32 at the break, and the Wizards managed just two field goals in the first five-plus minutes of the third to fall further behind. Boris Diaw threw an alley-oop to Chandler and added a layup in transition with 3 1/2 minutes left, pushing Charlotte's lead to 65-43.
Washington trailed 69-50 with 12 minutes to play and got as close as 73-62 near the eight-minute mark behind a 10-0 run.
Earl Boykins capped the rally with a jumper, but back-to-back three-pointers from Felton and Wallace fueled a 13-2 run that gave the visitors an insurmountable 22-point lead with 3:43 to play.
GAME NOTES: Charlotte dropped its first seven road games this season and had lost 13 in a row as the visitor dating back to the 2008-09 campaign...Washington's Antawn Jamison played 27 minutes and registered six points with no rebounds, the first time he was held off the glass since March 14, 2005 against the Lakers, a game in which he played just eight minutes...Brown and Nazr Mohammed each scored 10 points for Charlotte.
