Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - West Virginia sophomore forward Devin Ebanks announced his intention to declare for the 2010 NBA Draft on Monday.
"I have decided to enter my name into the 2010 NBA draft," Ebanks said in a statement. "I spoke to my mother and the coaching staff, and we have decided that I should explore my options to pursue a dream that I have had since I was a little kid. I want to thank West Virginia University, my coaches, my teammates and all the great fans."
Ebanks, a Long Island native, averaged 12.0 points with a team-best 8.1 rebounds per contest as West Virginia posted a school-record 31 victories and advanced to the Final Four before falling to eventual champion Duke.
"I certainly enjoyed coaching Devin for two years," said West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins. "He was extremely coachable and was a great teammate. We certainly wish him the best for a long and prosperous career."
As a freshman, Ebanks averaged 10.5 points and also led the squad with 7.8 rebounds in 35 games.
