Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill had his injured left hip examined on Friday and results showed he has loose fragments in addition to a possible labral tear.

Team doctor Steve Lombardo and hip specialist Dr. Jason Snibbe performed the examination and advised Hill that surgery will be needed to repair the injury and he will be out for the remainder of the season.

Hill, who will seek a second opinion before scheduling surgery, was averaging 5.6 points and 4.5 rebounds through 29 games this season.
