Boozer, Durant named NBA's Players of the Week

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer and Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant have been named the Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for games played between Jan. 14-20.

Boozer helped the Bulls to a three-win week and averaged 23.0 points per contest and a league-leading 14.8 rebounds. Boozer totaled a weekly-high 36 points on 16-of-24 shooting from the field in the Bulls' 107-105 win over the Raptors on Jan. 16 and recorded 19 points and 20 rebounds in a Jan. 18, 100-99 victory versus the Boston Celtics.

Durant, who picks up his second straight player of the week award, averaged a league-best 37.5 points over four contests, three of which were Thunder wins. He netted an NBA season-high 52 points on Jan. 18 in a 117-114 overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Other nominees for the awards included Miami's LeBron James, New Orleans' Greivis Vasquez, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, Philadelphia's Jrue Holiday and Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins.
