ROGASKA SLATINA, Slovenia - Brady Heslip of Burlington, Ont., poured in 14 points to lead the Canadian men's basketball team to a 83-66 win over Georgia on Saturday.
Andrew Nicholson of Mississauga, Ont., followed with 13 points and eight rebounds while Kamloops, B.C., native Kelly Olynyk added 12 points and six boards. Toronto's Cory Joseph had five assists.
Canada, playing for the third time in three days as part of its 11-game tour, built momentum late in the first quarter and carried it over to the rest of the game.
"They shot 53 per cent from the floor and I thought our defence led us to some easy transition points," said Canada's head coach Jay Triano. "Our transition defence will be key for us in the future as we continue to grow into the team we want to be."
Zaza Pachulia and Beka Burjanadz led Georgia with 11 points each.
