Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry reportedly captured the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year Award.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Terry will receive the award at a press conference on Friday.

In order to be eligible for this award, a player must have come off the bench in more games than they started. Terry was a sixth man in 63-of-74 contests he played this season.

Terry, despite starting a career-low 11 games, averaged 19.6 points and 3.4 assists for the Mavericks, who secured the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

The 31-year-old Terry played 33.7 minutes per game and set a new career high by making 2.3 three-pointers per contest. In 10 seasons, five each with Atlanta and Dallas, he holds career averages of 16.2 points and 4.9 assists in 800 regular season games -- 603 starts.
