NEW YORK -- Jeremy Lin will not play with the select team that will scrimmage against the U.S. Olympic team because of his free agency.

Lin is a restricted free agent, so the New York Knicks can match any offer he receives. Players can't sign new contracts until July 11, the last day the select team will train against the Americans in Las Vegas.

USA Basketball also says Monday that Boston centre Greg Stiemsma won't take part because of plantar fasciitis in his foot.

Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday was added earlier Monday to the squad.
