One day after losing out on Steve Nash, the Toronto Raptors may be on the verge of landing another starting point guard.

According to multiple sources, the Raptors have reached an agreement to acquire Kyle Lowry from the Houston Rockets for a package that includes a first round pick and forward Gary Forbes.

On Wednesday, Nash turned down a reported three-year, $36 million offer from the Raptors to accept a sign-and-trade deal to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I just want to thank the city of Houston and the fans for showing me love like I was one of y'all own, and I'll always keep that in my heart," said Lowry on his twitter account, @Klow7.

"Kyle Lowry welcome to the best city in the world," tweeted Raptors forward Ed Davis (@eddavis32).

Lowry is a pass-first point guard who pushes the ball up the floor, can penetrate opposing defences and is considered a solid defender.

Last season, Lowry started 38 games for the Rockets, averaging over 14 points and 6.5 assists per game.

Over seven seasons with the Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies, Lowry had averaged over 10 points and almost five assists per game.
