NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Brian Roberts scored 16 points and Lance Thomas and Ryan Anderson both added 14 to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 90-87 preseason victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Thursday night.

Anthony Davis, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft by the Hornets, had 12 points, nine rebounds and one block in almost 30 minutes of action. He did not play in the final quarter.

Byron Mullens and Ben Gordon had 15 points each for Charlotte while Ramon Sessions and Gerald Henderson both added 11.

The Hornets led by 16 points after the first quarter but the Bobcats rallied and held a 10-point lead midway through the final quarter. But the Hornets used a 22-9 run over the final 8 minutes to secure the victory.

Trailing 88-87, Charlotte centre Brendan Haywood had a chance to give the Bobcats the lead, but missed two free throws with 6.9 seconds left.
