DALLAS -- The Eddy Curry era is over for the Dallas Mavericks after just two games.

The Mavericks announced Friday that they've waived the journeyman centre and replaced him on the 15-man roster with newly signed free-agent centre Troy Murphy. The team didn't reveal any of the terms agreed to by Murphy.

In two games, Curry averaged 4.5 points and two rebounds in 12.5 minutes.

The Mavericks are the sixth team on Murphy's resume. Golden State took him 14th overall in the 2001 NBA Draft out of Notre Dame, where he was a two-time All-America selection. He's donned the uniforms of the Warriors, Indiana, New Jersey, Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers before signing with Dallas. His career averages are 10.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 27.5 minutes per game.
