The Toronto Raptors have retained a key part of their bench, re-signing restricted free agent Patrick Patterson to a three-year, $18 million deal according to multiple sources.

The 25-year-old forward was acquired by the Raptors as part of the Rudy Gay deal with the Sacramento Kings last December and proved to be a reliable front-court backup as Toronto reached the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Patterson averaged 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds with both the Kings and Raptors last season.
