The Tim Tebow era in Philadelphia is over.

The Philadelphia Eagles cut the former first-round draft pick Saturday as teams pared their roster down to 53 ahead of the regular season.

It appeared Tebow had a chance at making the roster after his decent preseason and the Eagles trading fellow backup QB Matt Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals, but it looks for now like Philadelphia will go with just two quarterbacks on their roster, Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.

The former first round draft pick was 21-36 for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception this preseason with the Eagles. He also added 82 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
