HOUSTON (AP) - Boise State quarterback Jared Zabransky, who led his team to a 43-42 overtime win against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, will sign as a free agent with the Houston Texans.

Zabransky helped his team to a 13-0 record last season and capped it with the thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Sooners. The Broncos tied the game on a 50-yard touchdown on fourth-and-18 with seven seconds to play. Then Zabransky hit Drisan James at Oklahoma's 35, and James pitched the ball to Jerard Rabb, who raced into the end zone.

The six-foot-two, 203-pound passer threw for 2,587 yards with 23 touchdowns in 2006. It was his third straight 2,500-plus yard season after he threw for 2,562 yards in 2005 and 2,927 in 2004.

He likely wasn't drafted because of his problems with consistency, but scouts believe he could be a dangerous scrambler.

The Texans acquired quarterback Matt Schaub in a trade with Atlanta in March and released David Carr. They also have quarterbacks Sage Rosenfels and Bradlee Van Pelt on their roster.
