The forgotten man in the New York Giants' improbable Super Bowl run is apparently unhappy with his role.

Tight end Jeremy Shockey, who suffered a season-ending broken leg in Week 15, is unhappy with the way he is being portrayed by the Giants and may skip the team's mandatory mini-camp.

"I haven't said one negative thing toward the Giants in the newspapers," the 27-year-old Shockey told the New York Daily News.

"I have never expressed the feelings of the things that you guys (media) made up. You guys will be able to talk to me (more) if I make it to mini-camp."

According to the Daily News, Shockey is unhappy with his role, his contract status and the perception that the Giants were better off without him. Shockey did take part in the Giants' Super Bowl parade, nor did he accompany the team on its visit to the White House.

Shockey just completed his first season of a five-year, $26.3 million contract extension.

The four-time Pro Bowler would not commit to attending mini-camp, which begins Wednesday.

"Who knows," he said. "I might go see my mother in Texas. I have no idea."
