ASHBURN, Va. - The Washington Redskins signed offensive tackle Mike Williams and released punter Dirk Johnson on Friday.
Williams hasn't played in the NFL since 2005. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills as the No. 4 overall pick in 2002.
Johnson was signed by the Redskins last month.
Williams started five games for the Bills in 2005. He started 42 games over the previous three seasons.
He was cut by Buffalo in February 2006, the signed a two-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars the following month. But Williams missed most of training camp with a sore back and went on injured reserve before that regular season began.
