Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Vikings middle linebacker E.J. Henderson had surgery on his broken left leg on Monday.

Henderson had suffered a gruesomely fractured left fibula in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals and stayed overnight in a Phoenix-area hospital prior to the procedure.

Henderson was carted off the field with 6:17 left in regulation. He and teammate Jamarca Sanford collided while trying to make a tackle on a run by Tim Hightower.

Henderson tumbled to the ground and then stayed there motionless until being lifted onto a cart. His brother, injured Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson, rode on the cart with his sibling to the locker room.
