Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins may have a pair of key contributors back in the fold as they come out of their bye week, with head coach Mike Shanahan stating on Friday he expects wide receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Brandon Meriweather to play in this weekend's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both players were officially listed as questionable on the team's final injury report, though Shanahan was optimistic about each's chances of suiting up.

"We feel good enough where if there's no setback, [Meriweather] will be able to play," Shanahan said. "Same thing with Garcon."

Garcon, one of Washington's top offseason pickups in free agency, has been sidelined since Week 5 due to a nagging foot injury that has limited him to only three games. The former Indianapolis Colt initially got hurt in the Redskins' season-opening win at New Orleans.

The fifth-year pro has totaled 153 receiving yards on eight catches in his three 2012 appearances.

Meriweather, a two-time Pro Bowl selection while with New England, has yet to play at all this season after spraining his left knee just prior to the 2012 opener, but was able to practice on a limited basis all week.

"Anytime you get two guys like that on your football team, obviously it helps you to win," said Shanahan.

Garcon and Meriweather were the only questionable players on the report, with cornerback DeAngelo Hall (groin), wide receiver Santana Moss (head) and offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle) all probable to face the Eagles.
