With NFL training camps underway, the league is abuzz with position battles, injury news and rookies making an immediate impact.

Each day, provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NFL beat.

Status Quo

Despite the Kansas City Chiefs turning things around under Andy Reid last year, Dwayne Bowe had one of the most disappointing seasons of his career last season. And according to a report from ESPN, things might not get better this year.

Adam Teicher reports starting receivers Bowe and Donnie Avery haven't looked great in camp, giving no indication they're in for rebound seasons in 2014.

Change of Pace

With both Geno Smith and Michael Vick on the roster, the New York Jets appear motivated to get both QBs into games this year.

According to a report from, Vick hinted that he'll be used to spell Smith at certain points during games in the regular season, giving opposing defences a different look.

In other Jets news, Chris Ivory, who is part of the team's other two-headed monster alongside Chris Johnson at running back, is expected to be fine after injuring his ribs in the team's preseason opener Thursday.

Warm Reception

After his troubling off-season, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice received a warm reception from fans during the team's preseason opener Thursday, according to a report from the Baltimore Sun.

Rice, who is suspended for the first two games of the regular season, split first team work against the San Francisco 49ers with Bernard Pierce.

Odd Man Out?

One-time highly-touted prospect Matt Barkley may have to join his second team in as many years to start his career.

According to a report from CSNPhilly, Barkley may get traded by the Philadelphia Eagles after losing his backup QB job to Mark Sanchez.

Barkley, who was once considered a first-round draft pick that fell to the fourth round in 2012, says he's believes this preseason will act as an audition for other teams.
