EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants have been awarded offensive tackle D.J. Jones on waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The club announced the move Saturday and said it had waived third-year guard Mitch Petrus to make room on the 53-man roster.

Jones spent most of last season on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad. The Eagles claimed him off waivers on Feb. 6 and waived him Friday.

A fifth-round draft choice in 2010, Petrus played in 17 regular-season games with three starts. He appeared in all four 2011 post-season games.

The Giants also announced practice-squad signees: receiver David Douglas; defensive ends Matt Broha and Craig Marshall; offensive linemen Matt McCants, Selvish Capers and Stephen Goodin; tight end Larry Donnell; and defensive back Laron Scott.
