The New England Patriots appear to have found their replacement for Aaron Hernandez.
Less than 48 hours after Hernandez was injured in the Patriots loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the team has signed free agent TE Kellen Winslow according to an ESPN report.
Hernandez is expected to miss at least a month after injuring his ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's loss.
Winslow was released by the Seahawks earlier this month after spending last season with Tampa Bay. Much like Hernandez, he is athletic and an accomplished pass catcher.
His signing should allow the Patriots to continue running their two tight end sets with Winslow replacing Hernandez alongside Pro Bowler Rob Gronkowski.
Winslow caught 75 passes for 763 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
