Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Rodgers is still not ready to return from his fractured left collarbone, meaning Scott Tolzien will draw a second straight start at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers this coming week.

Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Tolzien, who has spent the majority of this season on the practice squad, will be under center when the slumping Packers host Minnesota this weekend during his Monday press conference.

Rodgers, who suffered the injury to his non-throwing shoulder on the opening possession of Green Bay's Week 9 loss to rival Chicago, had been hoping to be ready to go for the Minnesota game. However, McCarthy stated that the 2011 NFL MVP has not yet been medically cleared to play.

"I don't make medical decisions," said McCarthy on Rodgers' status. "We know he wants to return as soon as he can, when he can."

Backup Seneca Wallace sustained a season-ending groin injury during his lone start in Rodgers' place, elevating Tolzien into the No. 1 role for this past Sunday's game against the New York Giants. The former Wisconsin signal-caller did amass 339 yards while completing 24-of-34 passes in his first NFL start, but threw three second-half interceptions in the Packers' 27-13 loss.

Green Bay did bring back Matt Flynn, Rodgers' understudy for four seasons from 2008-11, last week. However, the move was apparently more to provide experienced depth at the position.

The Packers have been in a free-fall since Rodgers went down, losing three consecutive games to drop to 5-5 on the season. Green Bay currently sits one game behind co-leaders Detroit and Chicago in the NFC North.
