Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner was named to the 2012 Pro Bowl in 2012, but he may not be eligible to play another one until 2015.

ESPN reports that Browner has been handed a one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, the appeal has already been heard and Browner will not play for the Seahawks again this season. He is slated to become a free agent in March.

Browner, who is currently sidelined with a groin injury and was expected to miss the next three to five weeks, took to Twitter Monday night to comment on an NFL Network report, posting "I'm not facing suspension for PED's, it's sad the NFL is reporting this…"

Browner played four seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders before joining the Seahawks in 2011.  He was a three-time CFL All-Star.

Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond III may also be facing a four-game suspension for substance abuse. According to the NFL Network's Michael Silver, Thurmond has appealed the suspension but is expected to drop his appeal next week in order to return in time for the playoffs.

The report indicates the Seahawks are attempting to sign cornerback Antoine Winfield to help replace the suspended players.

Cornerback Perrish Cox is also expected to work out for the Seahawks on Tuesday, Marcus Trufant worked out for the team on Monday.

ESPN reported that the Seahawks will sign Cox if he passes his physical on Tuesday and are also considering placing Browner on injured reserve due to his groin injury.
