The NHL Play of the Year showdown resumes today with a couple aerobatic beauties.

The 11th matchup of the Round of 32 sees Florida Panthers grinder Derek MacKenzie squaring off against Buffalo Sabres speedster Tyler Ennis.

MacKenzie showed off his best Superman impression for his best goal of the season.

The gritty forward’s unlikely tally would have never happened if not for Dave Bolland who managed to get the puck to MacKenize using a backhanded spin-o-rama pass as he was being harassed by Winnipeg Jets defenceman Adam Pardy. MacKenize didn’t let the money fed go to waste, netting one of his five goals this season by using a full-out dive to tip the puck past Michael Hutchinson’s arm.

Ennis kept the puck for himself for his goal against one of the best goalies in the game in Carey Price.

The 5’9” forward entered the Montreal zone wide before cutting by a flatfooted Alexei Emelin. Ennis was forced to jump to avoid running over Price and managed to hammer a backhand shot into the yawning cage as he fell to the ice, leaving a trio of Canadiens in sheer disbelief.
