The NHL Play of the Year is back today with more highlight reel efforts.

The final quarterfinal matchup features a video game-style goal by Gustav Nyquist of the Detroit Red Wings and some magic stickwork from Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers.

Nyquist's effort for the Wings is such a long and determined one that the play had to be sped up for time constraints. The crafty Swede holds the puck for half a minute, completing two full circuits of the Ottawa Senators zone before finally letting go of the puck. Once he unloads, the ping of the bar and the bulge of the net tells the Sens they had lost before they could even track the shot.

Eberle used some nifty stickwork against the San Jose Sharks to make his way into the quarters. After receiving a pass, the former World Junior hero performs a tremendous dangle, making the veteran Patrick Marleau look like a rookie. He then storms the net and roofs a backhander over Antti Niemi just as defenceman Brent Burns comes sliding over to break up the play.

Nyquist eliminated Nashville Predators goaltender Carter Hutton in the Round of 16 while Eberle defeated David Schlemko of the rival Calgary Flames.
