The second matchup of the NHL Play of the Year features two beautiful individual efforts from Washington Capitals sniper Alexander Ovechkin and Anaheim Ducks centre Ryan Kesler.

Ovechkin had another stellar season in 2014-15, amassing 50 goals for the sixth time of his career, with his nicest coming against the New Jersey Devils.

The Russian eluded defenceman Jon Merrill with a beautiful toe drag between his legs before lifting a backhander over goalie Cory Schneider as he fell to his knees.

Kesler’s tally was a stellar shorthanded effort as he slithered between a pair of Coyotes and then snapped the puck past Mike Smith, all of this happening with Sam Ganger basically hanging off his back.
