The Hurricanes signed F Brody Sutter to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will pay Sutter $525,000 per season at the NHL level, or $55,000 per season at the minor-league level, and includes a $105,000 signing bonus.
The team also signed D Justin Krueger to a one-year deal that will pay him $600,000 on the NHL level or $90,000 on the AHL level in 2012-13, with a guarantee of at least $105,000. - News Observer

GM Jim Rutherford said Monday that F Jiri Tlusty, a restricted free agent, signed a two-year contract worth $3.2 million. The deal will pay Tlusty $1.5 million next season and $1.7 million in 2013-2014.
The Hurricanes on Monday signed free-agent defenseman Beau Schmitz to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will pay Schmitz $525,000 per year at the NHL level, or $50,000 per year at the minor-league level, as well as a $50,000 signing bonus. Schmitz is expected to begin next season with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. - News Observer
